1959    Domenico Modugno for "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)"* performed by Domenico Modugno

I know I know, I sang Volare in the last challenge, but this is the original version in Italian as the original artist sang it

Nel Blue Dipinto Di Blu (Volare) - Domenico Modugno

I wanted to do "I Write the Songs", which was Grammy Song of the Year for Barry Manilow in 1977.  But, the SS renditions are in the wrong key and, since I'm Blue, I can' transpose.  The MIDI backings on RK are not very good.

So, since we are also allowed songs by Grammy winning artists, here's another one by Manilow.

I guess the title of this song pretty well fits me. :)

As my second song, I want to share this one that I just finished the backing for the other day.  In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful love songs ever.

Among other artist who recorded it, it was done by Frank Sinatra, who won Grammy Awards in 1959, 1961, 1962, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1979, 1981, 1987, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2001.

This one was published in 1943.  The music is by Harry Warren

with lyrics by Mack Gordon

I think this one will fit.  It looks like the song was nominated for best country collaboration with vocals, and Kelly has won Grammy awards, so...

Because Of You...Duet Version

I sang this with my cyber-twin, because I couldn't get anyone (not even my real sister) to sing it with me.  But if anyone happens to feel the urge to sing along, there is an open duet version on my pages over yonder at SingSnap.

Walt,

Just pulled up Frank's rendition on Napster.  The tempo of mine is a bit slower, but other than that, I sound JUST like him.   ;D

But, Frankie never sang the verse.

Listen to You'll Never Know by Frank Sinatra : http://free.napster.com/player/tracks/21492188

For those outside the U.S., I'm sorry that you won't be able to hear this recording.  Napster Free is only available here.
