This challenge is open to all. It runs from Tuesday, 12 January 2010 until Tuesday, 19 January 2010 at 6PM EDT.

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES AND THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING.

PURPOSE - The purpose of the EAW Music Challenge is to encourage people to create and/or promote new music each week and to give them a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved.

HOW IT WORKS - Every Tuesday at 6PM a topic featuring a new theme will be posted on this board. Those wishing to participate are invited to post links to their songs that match the theme. You may post a song with a link from any online music/singing site you belong to. Over the years a nice little community has sprung up around these challenges. We invite you to participate but be aware that here everyone is very supportive of each other. Amateurs and professionals are both welcome. You do not have to be a great singer to participate. No flaming is allowed on this board. This is not a contest. There is no judging. It is merely an opportunity to hear and be heard by others. You can post or merely listen and interact with the others who post here. Please follow the detailed guidelines which are posted below and at the top of each new challenge thread. Have fun!

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES -

1. Post links to ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday.  You may post a FOURTH song link on or after Saturday.  Your song can be a new song or one that was previously recorded.

2. For EACHname of your song. For easy instructions on how to HOT LINK and post your song title, click EAW FAQ.

7. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread. Please keep to the standard font, size and color that is already provided - this helps prevent your songs and comments from getting lost in a sea of shifting fonts and colors. For your song title only, use 14pt font size and bold. This will help your song stand out. For more information on how to do this, check the EAW FAQ.

New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EDT.  This current challenge will run until Tuesday, January 19, 2010 @ 6PM EDT.

The theme for this challenge will be "The Unforgetable Years "

Sing any song that was recorded during the 1960's or 1970's .  Yes them oldies but goodies.  When you post your song, post the year it was released and the artist of course.

Here is a link that can get you started Decade Charts

I have a lil prayer to share to start this week's challenge off, as some know, Sandy's father is hospitalized and we all wish him well.  She is taking time to be with him but I know she is still right beside me co-hosting.  Read this in silence and let's help him heal with power of prayer.  (this is optional)

Dear Lord,
You know my friend Sandy's father so much better than I do. You know his sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with him now, working in his life. Let your will be done in his life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, Lord, please help him to see his need and confess. Lord, I pray for Sandy's father because your Word says I should pray for his healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you to heal him, but I also trust in the plan you have for his life. Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why he has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward him. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence. Let Sandy and her father know you are there with them through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in his life and also in mine.
Amen

Mike I'm confused, do you want us to sing songs from 1950 thru 69 or songs of the 60's and 70's.

Saying a prayer for Sandy's Dad.

Here's one from Eric Clapton's "Slowhand" album, released in 1977.

See, I CAN do stuff from other than the "fossil file".

Thanks for a great challenge last week, Phil. You are the host with the most! ::)
Sandy, saying a prayer for your Dad and your family. And thank you so much for the duet.
Dani, should Andy Rooney get his eye brows threaded? You could prolly braid em! :D

Mike, ya know I got a song from this era. In keeping with my classic rock tradition, this song was written and recorded by Joni Mitchell and also recordedby CSNY in 1970. The anthem of the peace and love generation:

Woodstock

Here's one that hit #27 in 1974 by Tony Orlando and Dawn.  But, the instrumental break sounds like something from the fossil file.

Hi guys!

I've been lurking all this time, but it's been a while since I posted a song...

Johnny Cash hit the charts in 1963 with "Ring of Fire".......

I was playing around with Mrs. Woof's new computer tonight and a thought struck me....

"Hey... I theoretically could be on two different computers, on two different ids singing the same song at the same time......."

So I did a bit of experimenting....

Here is the result  :

Woofie

And

Howie

Simulcasting  so to speak...

What I learned by this little experiment  is that Mrs. Woof's new laptop has a really crappy camera, and an even crappier microphone....    LOL

Hi everyone!  Mike, you are just the bestest in the whole world...well, maybe short of my daddy.  Thank you so much for that wonderful prayer.  Just got back from the hospital a little bit ago, and Dad seems to be doing a lot better, and hopefully will be going home tomorrow.  Thank you all so much!  I love you all!

Okay, I've got one for the challenge!  I think this is the first time I ever gott something posted the fiirst day ...honest!

THE CHOKIN' KIND
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/b4bbe102

Recorded this last July, nobody listened to I shelfed it...throwin' it back out there!!!  I do see where it could be improved, but i think it's a great dedication for Joe Simon!  I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't even recognize his name, but he gripped the nation with this one!

Great!  Now I'll get a nice easy start on my listens too!!!

Good luck to you all finding that special song; there's a heapload of awesome hits in the 60's and 70s!

I'm hangin' around for a while to check out the playlist and see what we've got so far;
see ya!
