Kaiya's birthday already???  But it seems she was just born a few months ago.  :o  (Probably doesn't seem that way to Rachel!  LOL!)  Happy Birthday, Kaiya!

Rich - my comments on several of your songs:

"The Worst That Could Happen" has always been a favorite song of mine, and you've definitely done it justice.  Do they have it on SS?  If you sang it there, I'd be able to playlist it ... just sayin.   ;)

"Over There" - How cool that you and Doob covered a song that we've all known (well, at least I have) since we were little, and made it so interesting to listen to.  I absolutely love the video; very well done.  I haven't had a chance to use that program you suggested yet, but I hope to soon.  Sorry for the digression.  You said you used photos of your grandfather and great grandfather.  Could you tell me which photos they are?  I tried to guess by resemblance to you, but no luck!  (J/K)   :D

Hi everyone!!!

Well,  I've been so caught up in other stuff for the past week or so that I've not had the opportunity to do very many listens here.....    So Today I'm  parking my little hung-over (Karaoke with Dave and Ellie again last night...   They've become quite the celebrities in our little pub!)    butt in the chair  and hitting up as many of you as I can until Mrs. woof wakes up and we're off to the races again...

Jenny, I'm sending you a pm,  But I hope you got your mixer sorted out!

And Janet...  I just read your post, and sitting there thinking back over the past couple of years,  and how we've all grown together, and we've shared so many life-events with one another (in various degrees of participation and intimacy)..   I had a little tear running down my cheek...

We really have become so very like a family here...  Complete with the occasional "uncle we try not to talk about"...     LOL

:~)

Hey peeps!

First, Janet if you want to move this feel free as it is not part of the challenge. Cool challenge, by the way, I hope to enter some songs some day but it will have to wait.

Some of you know that I am closing my business.  Well today is the last day for my shop.  It was a picture framing shop.  Funny thing is that I did most all of my recordings here.  One time a customer walked in while I was recording and I didn't hear her.  When I came out to the counter the exchange was....well awkward.  It was pretty funny thinking back on it.  Anyway, It really could be some time before I can return here, however I do plan to come back.

I really wanted to thank you folks for the joy you have given me and I thought I would record one last song at the ole' frame shop.

See ya around, and thanks for the great times.  Until next time.....

(Janet as much as I may delight in being spanked with the ruler, please don't be too mad for posting this here. ;))

Thank You -ZZ Top

Awww Mike... I am so very sorry to hear about your business.  Mine is tiny really, but I do know how much pride I have in trying to keep it, and how hard it is sometimes to get where you need to be, no matter how much you do things right.

I am hoping that something better will be just around the corner for you out of your difficult times... and I'm sure the lady who heard you sing was delighted - for not only do you sing so very well, you would have appeared cheerful to her, um, I think?  Depending on what you were singing.

As to the wrong place to put this post, not at all, it's perfect!  And I do hope you can sing again real soon.  After I press submit to this posting I will be listening to you my friend, stay close to us, if only so that we may be there for you.

Awww Woof, you're just a gentle softie aren't you?... Careful now or you'll have me tearful too :D

Having said that Phil, my summary is just about spot on, as I was really disorientated this afternoon trying to make my way along Princes St to Lothian Road and the Cinema, so much so that I had agreed to meet up in the Filmhouse and then move on to the Cameo and as I ordered Coffee thought, I thought the film was in the Cameo and not the Filmhouse and there I am standing in the Cameo at the bar! DOH!  I didn't even feel the transition from one place to the other although I walked there!

The film was one of the best I have ever seen and I thoroughly recommend it - Tom Waits heheh, being himself really :P  I am saying no more than it is surreal and beautiful and just like one of my dreams... I actually thought I had fallen to sleep but for this, being as good as it was, I couldn't possibly do that! And if I am not making any sense in what I am writing - yep I sure am sleepy right now, but very contented... was good to get out :-)

Heh... just wondering if um, anyone else does these mad things, see, the girls wanted me to play bingo... but - er - we um, play it very differently.

See, for reasons unknown to me I spent two hours being Clint Eastwood - and er, being tired could only say 'Make Me Day, Punk'... which Michael Jackson read out the numbers for us and Bubbles the Monkey, turned the machine for the numbers to pop out of ... along with that there seemed to be this granny character who could only say 'I don't think I have that one?'...

This is the normal way to play it isn't it?   :-\

In to what's zup! ... And seriously worried at what might just end up on your profiles, should I get a craving to edit... :D

Good morning all! Janet, these unusual rules for British Bingo are news to me. But it sounds like fun to me!  ;D

Mike, I've left you a PM on Snap. I hope you get a chance to read it. There is no better place to talk about your life than right here on this thread. I mentioned in your PM that women have the cultural permission to cry on each other's shoulders.... to talk to each other about their heartaches and disappointments...and these lovely ladies outlive us men, on the average, by decades!
We men need to learn a lesson from them and begin talking to our support network (in this case EAW) about our lives, our triumphs, our disappointments. It lightens the load to know others care about you...and we do care about you, Mike. You've become a part of our family and we love you(Did I just tell a man I loved him?)

Well, enough of this getting in touch with my feminine side  :-[ ...It's time for me to do man things...I think I'll work out , sit around in my boxers and watch football the rest of the day.....and listen to some more HOF recordings, of course!

:) Sigh!  And you were doing so well until you got to the footie Phil... Heh... yes, we have both feminine and masculine sides... I am going to touch my masculine one later and um, er, oh help!  I can't think what to do, where's the remote?  :P  Gimme a screwdriver - I think the picture needs adjusting slightly, what you mean you were watching that, go do your knitting!  GRR.

Good morning Everyone!  Sorry I have been a bit scarce.  I have listened to many songs but need to catch up some more.  I just caught up on the replies.

On our little street just among the neighbors we count as friends there are 5 birthdays and an anniversary this month within a FORTNIGHT of each other plus my younger daughter's birthday.  SO I was out to lunch with husband and older daughter for his and my birthdays last week.  Last night aforementioned neighbors all got together, and in a couple hours we are headed to brunch with my mother-in-law to celebrate our birthdays, younger daughter's AND an aunt and a cousin.  Got cake?
I now officially weigh two tons!   So Janet, I think I need more space here and a bigger pic.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAIYA!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you should consider my songlist complete because I don't have any other duets I want to add.  I'm not very good at them and will have to practice.

So....    I was wondering...   Trevor at singsnap said that Userplane is changing from an advertiser supported framework to a fee-based one...   Does that mean that singshare will be having to pay for their use?  Because if that's the case.. I'd think this would be a perfect opportunity to seek out a better chat provider.  (there certainly aren't many worse ones out there than userplane.)

^^^  LOL at the bigger space  ::)

FEED ME CAKE PUNK!  Heheh...

I was just up changing the light bulbs in the dining room/office - no dining or work happens in this room heh, but it leads to the stairs and every other room in the house... it's another high ceiling and candle lights within upright grr lampshades!  So fiddly - but I mastered it eventually.  It bought me back to my dinner last night

The place I went to was called 'The Dogs' - quaint and very Scottish cuisine - old building.
So, as I am sitting there as my friend's mobile went off and he had to go check it, I look up to the ceiling - heh, thinking on my light bulbs I am going whoa!  19 lampshades on a chandelier - yep  you got it, I'm there with my stepladder.

And I'm also thinking... now I can officially say, Janet has literally been to the dogs and back ... :)

Updating going on in the underbelly - Gordie, at last you have been added, Phil - your duets are now on, Rick, updated... Jay, you're next but I'm watching an item or two on ebay, planning an escape to the co-op, thinking about hoovering, listening to stuff, downloading something else heh, it may take me a bit of time... :D

UPDATE RE CHAT ROOM:

Woof:  I guess I have to speak out publically now as there have been at least three enquiries about this.

1) If snap are changing from advertised to fee based that is their perrogative - guess they are fed up with the adverts.  And if they go to fee based it's gonna cost them - a lot.

We have received no notification that we will be charged so for now we will stay as we are.  Most people are staying in fine and some are finding with a better internet connection they can stay in and multi-task heh.

2)  We have looked and looked for a better chat room Mark, and it is no easy task and all have so far been fee paying or with added problems, and less privacy.

3)  I am going to say I've been with userplane now from the time of us joining and hosted Friday nights.  My boots are usually blue screens and the reason for that is my low computer resource level.  My hard disk badly needs defragging.  Until I do that I run the risk of crashing.

If Rich can use userplane from a Truck with a wireless connection and his cam in place, then I really don't see we can complain.  For ages we had Kia in there using Windows 98...

I think a lot of our problems lie closer to home and our set up than userplane.

So no... there is a package you can get off of userplane to take the ads off - it costs - simple as that.  Snap have decided that is what they want... we have nothing to do with Snap so no comparison to what we provide should be made - we remain free, with ads ...

BUT downloading firefox and adding adblocker takes them out!  :)

EDIT:

Quote
(there certainly aren't many worse ones out there than userplane.)

Heh, example of how good the chat room can be:  Last night woof, it was just you, Tracy, Walt and Me... we came in around 2.30am my time and stayed to gone 5am... I do not remember a single person actually bouncing in that time.

Friday night I was in there and remember saying to Tracy ooo time, my time in the room was 5hrs 24 mins and my time on my laptop clock was 5 hrs  04 :D  So,  ...  no boots in 5 hours?  :)  I think we need to be careful not to paint all black pictures when using descriptive terminology - I personally feel I get very good value for money, in fact I would be happy to pay twice as much as I currently do which is?  :P

It  (Userplane) does seem a little more stable recently.  I had to reinstall Adblock last night (still feeling the effects of the new hard drive over 6 weeks later), but once I did, everything was lovely!

Perhaps you misconstrued what I said...

Snap did not change anything.  Userplane told snap that they (userplane) were switching to fee based,  and now will be charging snap to use their chatrooms.

I just naturally assumed that it meant they were changing their arrangement with all of their users.  Maybe it's only with their really high volume users and folks like little ol' us won't be affected.

 :)

Mostly my recent anger with userplane is because my cam will not work in the chat room.   Since my cam works perfectly with every other application, it seems clear to me that the problem is somewhere on userplane's end, and not mine.

Note:

I really had a wonderful time last night!

Very late on the scene, and having a job picking songs, however the first is easy, since it is my favorite. The second I loved singing, the third is another of my all time favorites, the forth I really got to like, and the fifth is my own interpretation of another favorite.

Songs.
1. Van Morrison.......Have I Told You Lately
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/c4cf01d4

2. Celine Dion.......My Heart Will Go on ( Titanic)
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/b1a1f18b

3. Sammy Davis Jr...... Mr. BoJangles
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/be1246863

4. From Jekyll and Hyde.............This Is The Moment
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/bcbc8502

5. Elton John.........Your Song  (My Version)
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/bec1e5fe

Duets.

1.You Don't Bring Me Flowers....... with Elronda
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/b9f99a6f

2. I've never Been in Love Before.........with Sandysongbird
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/c512c49c8

3. Wake Up Little Susie............with Walkingstick
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/c2111ccbb

4 Time To Say Goodbye......with Sandysongbird
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/ae99ae22

5. With You I'm Born Again........with cheryliana
http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/c8d28790

Having trouble with snap, will finish off tomorrow, have also come back with a cold and cough which are really kicking in today, so off to bed.

I've added my final duet, now snap has let me, must have been a lot of traffic last night.

<--- loves the post count... even though I tend to gab a lot, it's a rather lovely number... I may never post again GRIN.  BTW did anyone actually look up the meaning of Cerebrationist?  It's a play on Cerebral for me but I rather liked what it said heh.

Quote
Trevor at singsnap said that Userplane is changing from an advertiser supported framework to a fee-based one...

Not sure I misconstrued it Woof, a wee while back I tried to look at setting Sing-share up a new room and one of the packages as I have just said below offers exactly that... ad free chat room but it's expensive.  On top of that if you look at Singsnap - every gold member is entitled to create their own private chat room - using Userplane.  That's a huge usage - so I would have thought if someone is offering this, they might just get an email saying, Hmmm free?  Or on the other hand would you be willing to run a huge website like snap giving Userplane free advertising to all your members when in actual fact you could be making money instead of them?  Or increasing loyalty by getting rid of pesky ads... There's a business sense in there somewhere - but it does make it less accessible to blue members.  So another carrot dangled/or another stone thrown.  No idea.

Heh, I wonder if I am getting tired.  I just received a PM and for all the world I am convinced its title was HOT Stuff and not HOF stuff - :D

EDIT:

Note about webcam use and Userplane...

If I go into Userplane and I already have a resource using my webcam - ie a song in singsnap even ready to sing, I simply cannot switch my webcam on.  I have to close all songs and then click the V - after that I go back and open the song.  Been like that since the day dot for me?

Maybe if it is a genuine issue though it might be worth a note to Userplane to ask support what is happening.  Especially if your cam works in all other places.

Another place which causes me problems after using is RedKaraoke... I only attempted to use it twice and gave up, but the result was I had to close my browser completely as it was using Java and nothing was then compatible.  Or work out where the Java thing was and close that!

EDIT 1.47am...

EDIT:  19th October... a voice from the future Muwhahahha... er... heh, morning all, I mean afternoon, no, I mean morning to YOU ...

Monday isn't so bad :D  Mine's feeling rather lovely...  My overnight problem sorted, a lovely chat with a friend, the world feels great right now... *give it five minutes ...

Hope your day is lovely too.

I'm building a picket fence with my posts - uh-oh, unintentional pun...  :D

*okay, I just edited the wrong post!  Did I say five minutes?  Nothing is gonna shake my mood - NOTHING!

Never too late with this one and whooo-hooo glad you made it here to join us :D

Good evening peeps, I've been a bit busy this afternoon downtown, stalking the bank and scoring a rainbow piggy bank for being a good girl - okay Johanna got it but I can think of ways of um moving it hehehe... and then I had to hunt down food in the various shops around ... I still forgot to buy Stamps grrr.  But at least I remembered the coffee.

I shall be trying to do some more catching up here this evening - I have to confess to not being able to do much listening yet due to work and stuff getting in the way, but I will be, especially now I can click on all your lovely photos...

Oh and it rained the minute I got out the house so I get nice and wet too, heh...

Oooo postie warning and thanks Daniela... Happy Birthday Doobs!

Okay folks... I think we have caught up with the editing... bar a few links which people need to give me for their webspaces they sent via pm.

It's been an exciting time updating and seeing new profiles, and there's still time to add more... as I said at the beginning - this is an ongoing project.

Now for the listening.  I have seen many of you supporting this challenge with your listening...  I'm hoping to get as many in as I can tomorrow.

Thanks for everything so far... remember, each link in the photo mosaic leads to all your singsnap profiles via your inset profile and that means we can keep up with each other just by looking at this page EAWHOF ^^^ link up top, and checking for latest recordings...

Right, I'm gonna wind-down now, heh... it's early again   ;D
