Welcome to our 130th Everyone's A Winner Challenge/Showcase Thingy

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING. THIS IS A SPECIAL CHALLENGE AND SOME OF THE GUIDELINES BELOW APPLY ONLY TO THIS SPECIFIC CHALLENGE CXXX.

This fortnight (next two weeks) things are going to be slightly different from our normal challenge and here to help oversee this project is my wonderful website co owner partner: BRUCE

After a period of time over on Singsnap and running these challenges we thought it might be a nice idea to have a personal Hall Of Fame...

Many of you joined in and it was a lovely showcase. We feel the time has come to bring it home.

Here is the new link:  EAW - HALL OF FAME

At the moment you will see all the old familiars you did over there. Well, if they aren't here yet, and you know them, why not 'Bring Them Home' too?

We also have seen new faces over the last seven months since we came here and it would be nice to have their songs included too. So, this challenge will be open to Sing-share members and past members of our Everyone's a Winner Community.

It runs from Tuesday October 6th until October 20th and will remain open for additions until we think the project is completed... the thread will be marked 'sticky'  The next scheduled challenge will take place on October 20th 6PM EDT.

IMPORTANT NEW RULES FOR THIS CHALLENGE ONLY:

A) Please post your songs in one post only... on Sing-share you can edit a post whenever you need.

In order to avoid songs being lost among the banter it is easier for me to pick you up by creating a playlist with the posters name and linking to their first post in the thread than skipping all over the place.

B) We would like on this occasion to limit entry into the Hall of Fame to those who have contributed to at least FIVE challenges on Sing-share.

As the thread will remain open you have time to join in and then have your profile created at a later date.

THEME

1. You are asked to POST FIVE songs that you consider your personal    favourite/best.  In addition to that you are asked to post FIVE DUETS, again that you consider your favourites.

You may post them all at once or add to them within the same initial post over the fortnight. This applies only to this challenge, number CXXX.

Please format them as following:

Recordings

1.  Original Artist name:
     Name of song
2.  Original Artist name:
     Name of song
3.  As above to 5...

Duets/Harmonies

1.  With name of partner :
     Name of song
2.  With "name of partner" :
     Name of song
3.  As above to 5...

Your songs can be new songs or ones that were already recorded, and not necessarily challenge songs.

**2. Listen to at least SIX other peoples songs and leave feedback.  You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.

Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what its about.

IMPORTANT notice re the additional information part of the profile:

3.  If you look at Bruces or my profile on the EAW HOF which already exists, you will see we have additional information below our songs and a chance for you to say something nice as a friend.  Please post this information in a PM to me and not in the thread in the following format:

A Little Bit About ... this is you

From -
Lives -
Height
Occupation -
Hobbies -
Favorite Foods -
Favorite Movies -
Favorite TV Shows -
My Webspaces -

More About ...  this is about your friend and will be added to the bottom of their profile.
by Janet (CerebralJam)

Please say the full name of the person you are writing about in case we have duplicate first names ie friendly name and username will help me.

___________

Thank  you, I hope you all have fun listening to all the new songs our members consider their personal very best. This will be mostly a listening and reflecting fortnight - I hope you enjoy.

Because this is an unusual challenge and ongoing project, whilst Bruce & I will dip into your songs as much as we can, we will be relying mainly on you as fellow members to do a lot of the listening we will be busy in the background doing the editing, formatting and uploading to the server.

Do not worry if you do not see your profile up here yet, it will be added, we are still working on it.  If you do see your profile and you want to change your songs, especially the now dead links, please post your new choices ...

I have to add the link for the EAWHOF to our forum menu too - at present it is only on the front page end but you should see it here real soon :-)

Heh.  I was just looking at my eaw hof page the other week and thinking how woefully out of date it had become.  Great idea to let us all refresh our lists, and to include all our wonderful new members.  This week is going to be a real gold-mine, I have a feeling (even if some of us^^^ find it hard to choose  :P )!

Wow, I made it to post #100?  That's a milestone's milestone!  For decimal-minded people, at any rate...
(..."There are 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't"... lol)

Here's my list (to be completed soon!)

Solo Recordings:

1.  Original Artist name:
     Name of song
2.
3.
4.
5.

Duets/Harmonies:

1.  With Eliza (RagandBone):
Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue - Where the Wild Roses Grow

2.  With Jackie (jackiesunflower):
Seether (featuring Amy Lee) - Broken

3.  With Janice (janni----):
Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat - Lucky

4.
5.

I will have you know I have the biggest bendiest ruler ever ANGELINA!  And it's purple too so there... heh.

I think the next fortnight is going to be hugely challenging for us all as we've made so much growth and obviously love all our songs :D

We've a nice long time to ponder it over... and like Adam feels it's going to be a wonderful experience...

Just remember folks to use the same post for all your songs... I will show you how this works in a second as I will add your names... I know Ang and Adam will give me songs before long so I'll add there posts now ;)

Wow! A special theme. Well, you two sure have a lot of work cut out for the next two weeks..*chuckles*...This is great! (The theme, that is..not that you two will be swampt!) Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. J.K. I love it! :)

Edit: Wait...on second thought. SO will we! LOL ;-)

EDIT: Ok, this was very hard considering I do not like much of my stuff due to bad recording sound and old mic and no mixer - at one time. On some I may sound like I am singing from within a box. Or, the sound was distorted - Major! But, yes, this was hard because the ones that I DID like, went over the limit of 5 chosen songs. So I had to narrow it down to these five (10) from each category. Thanks for listening...<3

Here's my list...

Solo Recordings:

1.  Elton John
Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word
2.  Lenny Welch
Since I fell For You
3.  10cc
I'm Not In Love
4.  Etta James
At Last
5.  Barry White
Cant Get Enough

Duets/Harmonies:

1.  W/Darkhorse
The Beat Goes On
2.  W/Grover
How Do We Keep The Music Playing
3.  W/Michael S
Sharing The Night
4.  W/Manfredman
You Are Everything
5.  W/Roger
Like We Never Had A Broken Heart

I have a problem...I have way too many favorite duets, and absolutely nothing solo worth putting in here.  (Sorry, just having a hard time accepting that I even belong around here at the moment.)

Oh well, here goes, might as well get this over with...(I love my recordings!  I just understand that others don't hold to the same opinion.)

Solo Recordings:

1.  Patsy Cline
Crazy
2.  The Sound Of Music
Sound Of Music
3.Martina McBride
There You Are
4.Alison Krauss
Maybe
5.  Dionne Warwick
Message To Michael

Duets:

1.  With Mike (Fofun)
Me And You
2.  With Mike (Fofun)
Someone Else's Star
3.  With Mike (Fofun)
I Finally Found Someone
4.  With Mike (Fofun)
Whenever You Come Around
5.  With Tommy (Tommyrageous)

Tee hee, my first time indeed!  I am a n00b, would you like to do the playlist for me Phil?

BTW anyone new to our website - please feel free to join in the listening, banter and watch all the creating going on... just coming and talking to us at this stage is another challenge under your belt on that number 5 we are looking for, and it will take us a bit of time to get all this working for everyone... I think as this is a two week challenge this challenge counts as TWO challenges to make the wait a little shorter :D.

Remember too, you can join in with Rich's Oldies Challenge, The EAW Loveseat, open a thread for covers using a backing track if you have something special to share... lots of ways to be included... add a thread in our discussion boards for topical conversation... or you can try a quiz or two or even - I shouldn't say this, play in our arcade :D

Now, I'm about to get creative and try and build a new button up there for our HOF so that we can see it when on the forum too :D

Ooo I got cut off - lots of posts heh, it will take time, but yes - I'll get the playlist up and working first - you don't have to wait for me to start your listening...

And Sandy... I know many of your songs I love which are solo, don't be shy... have a good ol' dig :D

Okay friendees I'm off to the loft to sort the lights .... back soon!

Modify:  There you go!  LIGHTS ARE ON and we have a new menu item up the top for you for any time you wish to visit...

Oh Janet!!
what a lovely idea!!!!

 :D

I have a couple of questions.  More of a clarification than anything else.  Can I edit / change what songs are already on my HOF page?   Can I edit the "about me" stuff  ?   (In case I wanna try to convince you guys that I'm actually an international spy and not some lowly carpenter... lol)

I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys consider your own personal "best"..   See if I agree with ya... LOL

Also looking forward to learning a bit more about many of you.  especially the newer members...

This is gonna be a really cool fortnight!

And I have another question.  When we click on the member's names in the area where the Song List usually goes, is it supposed to take us to their HOF Profile?  When I click on a name, all it does is take me to their post here in the thread.

Rightyho...

WOOF:  Yes, you can edit anything at this stage - just make sure you edit songs in the one post which is your first one - which I will list, and two send personal details to me via PM and call it HOF CHALLENGE - that way I won't lose it!

RICH:  For the purposes of the challenge to keep things smooth, I am linking the poster's name to the post where they are to modify and add their songs.  That way anyone wanting to use the playlist can click on someone's name and the link should take you directly there.  The profile stage is all html so it takes time to edit and upload, I am about to create yours rather than update so bare with me...

When you click on the EAW HOF page, you will see all our photos displayed  - you then click on the photo and that will take you to the actual profile with all the links as they are added.  If your photo is not there yet - your profile needs creating.    Hope that helps.

I'm feeling kinda frazzled at 1.56am and a birthday to be up for tomorrow morning so I will be winding down shortly and continuing for a wee while in the morning - Bruce will be helping me in the background so you may not see too much of him... we will both be working too heh...

What I really want you to enjoy this week is just following the thread as normal and clicking on folks names to see if they update their posts... bit of a maze but it will still be fun...

I'm going to say goodnight here and carrying on in the basement for a wee while.

Thank you for all your added responses so far... we are going to be BUSY!!! :D

Addendum, Jubi just link to songs like you would in a normal challenge and we will do the rest :D

Howdy all,

Just popping in to say 'hi'.  Hi!    ;D

I'm not spending as much time here or at SingSnap
so that's why you don't see me around as much.
Looking for balance between cyberworld and therestofmyworld
;)

There will be some good listens this fortnight
so I will definitely be taking in some of the
best of the best.

Muah!

You know, that's the first thing I saw when I arrived here, and you have no idea just how much that makes me smile Angelina ... Heh!   ;D

Now, I better read everything else!

Morning everyone... I haven't really opened my eyes yet, do you think I should - was a kinda pretty sunrise - there's a wee bird in this house just left for school who thought I needed to be up before the sun!  GRRR.

Just letting you know that's our first two new profiles added:

ColonelMac and FrankCNY ...
Sandy's has her duets all updated too.

Doing more soon, think I need my second cup of coffee today to make up for not drinking any yesterday and the first only drinking 3/4... I'm awake now... heh.

EDIT:  Can I remind folks too that if you want you can say something nice about folks to add to their profiles... just send it to me in a PM and I will add under the "More About ..."  section....
