This challenge is open to all. It runs from Tuesday, 22 September 2009 until 29 September 2009 at 6PM EDT.

Joining me once again for this weeks challenge is my SAWEEET n Adorable co-host  Sandysongbird, affectionately known by many as "Brat" or even "Jammies"

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES AND THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING.

PURPOSE - The purpose of the EAW Music Challenge is to encourage people to create and/or promote new music each week and to give them a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved.

HOW IT WORKS - Every Tuesday at 6PM a topic featuring a new theme will be posted on this board. Those wishing to participate are invited to post links to their songs that match the theme. You may post a song with a link from any online music/singing site you belong to. Over the years a nice little community has sprung up around these challenges. We invite you to participate but be aware that here everyone is very supportive of each other. Amateurs and professionals are both welcome. You do not have to be a great singer to participate. No flaming is allowed on this board. This is not a contest. There is no judging. It is merely an opportunity to hear and be heard by others. You can post or merely listen and interact with the others who post here. Please follow the detailed guidelines which are posted below and at the top of each new challenge thread. Have fun!

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES -

1. Post links to ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday.  You may post a FOURTH song link on or after Saturday.  Your song can be a new song or one that was previously recorded.

2. For EACH song link you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 song links you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 song links, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose. Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.

3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.

4. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end.

5. Please avoid making multiple posts in a row (spamming) by going back and modifying your posts if you left something out.

6. Remember to post the name of your song. For easy instructions on how to HOT LINK and post your song title, click EAW FAQ.

7. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread. Please keep to the standard font, size and color that is already provided - this helps prevent your songs and comments from getting lost in a sea of shifting fonts and colors. For your song title only, use 14pt font size and bold. This will help your song stand out. For more information on how to do this, check the EAW FAQ.

New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EDT.  This current challenge will run until Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 6PM EDT.

The theme for this challenge will be:  CountryTyme Decade's

The Theme this week is: Country Music Songs from 1930's, 1960's, and 1990's.  Three decades of songs to choose from.  Here is a link that will help you with songs from  these decades.  Remember, Have fun!!

List of "Years" in COUNTRY music

Remember to invite your friends to join us. The more the merrier!!  LET's Get er done!!

Woo hoo!  Country music!

I'm off to look for a song.

Hey Mike!  Hey Sandy!  Let's hope more than just you two, me, Squirl and Phil do this category LOL.

It's warm and sunny outside
but I just have to do a song first
before heading out to the lagoon or beach for a bit.

Back in a flash.

I can't seem to find a country song in my pre-records that fits this challenge, so hopefully I'll get some time this week to record a new song.  In the meantime, I'll enjoy listening to you fine folks!!

Well you all know I'm a country boy at heart, and this is a country song from the 1960's by Ray Charles

I  Can't Stop Loving You

I've even shown it in green to show my country credentials ( perhaps I shouldn't  show my credentials, it might cause offence ). Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The song was off Ray Charles's Album "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" published in 1963

Here you go Mike and Sandy.
This one is from 1951,
the year I was born.

And my wee friend Cindy-Lou
joined in with me on this one.
Be kind
as it's been a while for her
and her skills in front of the camera are a bit rusty LOL
;)

Hey, Good Lookin'

EDIT: :o :o :o Oops!  How did I get the decades wrong?
Can you be gentle with the bendy ruler and let me keep it here
because Cindy-Lou and I took too many takes before Snap would behave?
(she said on bended knee)

As those who know me are aware, I don't "do" country music nor do I like it (ducks head and hurries out of the thread), but after such a great challenge last week I'm glad to let you all carry on without me this week with no worries. Too many offline responsibilities to handle this week anyway (job-seeking, work, getting a short-term health insurance policy, etc., lol). Will check back with you next Tue. after I've seen Forbidden Broadway this weekend, should be a hoot to listen to and watch!

This was the number one country song from 1960 by Jim Reeves

Hi Mike & Sandy!!  Love me some Country Music!!!  Cool!

Here's one from 1963

Ring Of Fire ~ Johnny Cash

Afraid it doesn't really sound as Country as when Johnny does it...LOL!

Howdy y'all?  Er.  That was strenuous ... that's it!  Bye!

I mean, er,  ;D  Great challenge Mike & Sandy... gotta do some catching up with some work and stuff early part of this week but if a song suddenly grabs me you'll get one earlier.

I 'never' say 'don't', - 'can', 'will', 'going to' were drummed into me at a very early age, so you will get your country song heheh.

Love Jim Reeves - Mike, was my dad's fav.

Okay, I'm gonna lay low and do some of my work but keep you company... looking forward to seeing lots of songs.

Mike, Walt is on a sabbatical for September... he'll be back - You can't keep a good man down :D

Hey folks.  Long time.

Been busy but I sure do miss the challenge.

I don't know country real well but if someone can gve me a request in the next 5 minutes or so I will try it.  I only have maybe 20 minutes to do it.

If not I'll try to come up with something tommoroow.

Ready.....go.

Hey Everyone! Mike and Sandy, this is a great theme! Here's one from 1968.

One of the lines in this song just so happens to say how I feel about my Rhonda  :-*  See if you can pick out the line  ;D
