This challenge is open to all. It runs from Tuesday July 28 until August 4, 2009 at 6PM EDT.

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES AND THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING.

PURPOSE - The purpose of the EAW Music Challenge is to encourage people to create and/or promote new music each week and to give them a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved.

HOW IT WORKS - Every Tuesday at 6PM a topic featuring a new theme will be posted on this board. Those wishing to participate are invited to post links to their songs that match the theme. You may post a song with a link from any online music/singing site you belong to. Over the years a nice little community has sprung up around these challenges. We invite you to participate but be aware that here everyone is very supportive of each other. Amateurs and professionals are both welcome. You do not have to be a great singer to participate. No flaming is allowed on this board. This is not a contest. There is no judging. It is merely an opportunity to hear and be heard by others. You can post or merely listen and interact with the others who post here. Please follow the detailed guidelines which are posted below and at the top of each new challenge thread. Have fun!

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES -

1. Post links to ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday.  You may post a FOURTH song link on or after Saturday.  Your song can be a new song or one that was previously recorded.

2. . That means, if you post 2 song links you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 song links, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose. Listening is the most important part of this challengename of your song. For easy instructions on how to HOT LINK and post your song title, click EAW FAQ.

7. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread. Please keep to the standard font, size and color that is already provided - this helps prevent your songs and comments from getting lost in a sea of shifting fonts and colors. For your song title only, use 14pt font size and bold. This will help your song stand out. For more information on how to do this, check the EAW FAQ.

The theme for this challenge is Singing Decades Part III

Post a song from either or all of the following decades - 1950s, 1980s, 1990s

This is the third in a series of challenges that will, when done, have you singing a song from every decade of the past 100 years! These challenges will not necessarily run consecutively.

Helpful Links:
These are by no means the only such lists on the net. Search "top songs of (whatever decade you choose)" for more such lists.

Cool theme, Bruce. Now to look for some songs!

By the way...please join me this week in wishing Rhonda a Happy Birthday!. She turns a year older tomorrow! I have a Birthday song for her where I hope you will all stop by and leave a comment for her and wish her well. The song celebrates her Birthday but also the love that she and I have found on the Singsnap and Singshare sites....I like to think of us as having an EAW Love Affair.  :-*

Being a man the first thing I noticed about her was her pretty face  :P ...followed by that gorgeous voice...but inside of her pretty exterior is a lovely, caring soul.

Ok...  :-[  I er, just found out this was recorded in 1954 by Muddy Waters, so I guess I have to reveal my er, hairbrush song... I'm no Muddy or Etta, but it's a great song.

I Just Want To Make Love To You - Etta aka Muddy Jam

Now I run away for the rest of the week, hehehe.

Hi everyone!

Glad to see you all here and have loved the songs I've heard so far. Happy Birthday Rhonda and happy birthday to anyone whose birthday I've missed in the last few weeks.

My life continues to be hectic but I am glad to take the time to come by and share music with you all once again.

EDIT - Well, I have heard everyone above me and now I need to go start my evening chores. I will see you all back here later or tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing your terrific contributions.

PS - Thanks to Janet for handling the playlist.

  • I'm Musically Yours...

Heya all...

I've been so busy making my first, music video of myself...like a movie. I was all set, about to save, and it corrupted. What a shame. I will continue to be busy until I see where I went wrong. If I get it done it will fit this theme. Its my ALL-TIME HIGH in music video. OK, I didn't get a chance to say GREAT JOB ANGE AND MARIGOT (her first time hosting) on a super challenge. I am off now but sad as a puppy dog can be because I almost had it and now I'm frustrated. If you all don't hear from me you know why...SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cries. Poo.

EDIT: I might add to the frustration..  Been working on this for days, I MEAN DAYS..and... Forget it.
Goes away..........
