This challenge is open to all. It runs from Tuesday 7th April until 14th April 2009 at 6PM EDT.

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES AND THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING.

PURPOSE - The purpose of the EAW Music Challenge is to encourage people to create and/or promote new music each week and to give them a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved.

HOW IT WORKS - Every Tuesday at 6PM a topic featuring a new theme will be posted on this board. Those wishing to participate are invited to post links to their songs that match the theme. You may post a song with a link from any online music/singing site you belong to. Over the years a nice little community has sprung up around these challenges. We invite you to participate but be aware that here everyone is very supportive of each other. Amateurs and professionals are both welcome. You do not have to be a great singer to participate. No flaming is allowed on this board. This is not a contest. There is no judging. It is merely an opportunity to hear and be heard by others. You can post or merely listen and interact with the others who post here. Please follow the detailed guidelines which are posted below and at the top of each new challenge thread. Have fun!

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES -

1. Post links to ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song link on or after Saturday. Your song can be a new song or one that was previously recorded.

2. For EACHname of your song. For easy instructions on how to HOT LINK and post your song title, click EAW FAQ.

7. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread. Please keep to the standard font, size and color that is already provided - this helps prevent your songs and comments from getting lost in a sea of shifting fonts and colors. For your song title only, use 14pt font size and bold. This will help your song stand out. For more information on how to do this, check the EAW FAQ.

New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EDT. This current challenge will run until Tuesday, April 14th, 2009, 6PM EDT.

Hello and hope you all are well. For this weeks challenge, I will be your host, along with my beautiful friend and co-host, Ally. For many of us here have had our ups and downs, turnarounds, and changes in our lives. Some have been tragic. So, for this week, I would love for you all to sing songs that contain words like: Sunshine, Flowers, Color, (or any of the names of colors and flowers) Rainbow/s, Happy, Season. You get the general idea -- anything that represents SPRING and HAPPINESS.

"Let me color your world with the color 'yellow' for sunshine."

The possibilities are endless. The choices are yours. And, as a bonus, considering Easter is approaching...you may also sing songs that contain anything that represents Easter, as well.

Woohoo... Change! Seasons, the cycle of Life... That theme's right up my alley! Gonna hit a few more listens on the old thread, then BRB

If I could find it I would do XTC's "season cycle" from Skylarking. I just read some comment somewhere calling XTC the love-child of the Beatles and Yes--which I thought was pretty on point, though I see their provenance as more of a three-way with the Beach Boys added in.

Anyway, here's an appropriate number by Yes that I've wanted to do for a long time and just completed:

Love this theme. I think this song says it all. It has so many glorious treasures of spring. Flowers, rainbows, new birth, colors, nature, and most all peace and elation. This theme is going to bring forth some beautiful listens

Adding this one only I did it so long ago I think I need to redo. You know after you catch on better on how to mix and of course with the new mixer... well think I can do better ANYWAY you'll have to turn it up! I also learned that you can't record with headphones on, you have to take one off to hear yourself better, so you don't get pitchy.... yup learned lots of stuff and still only scratched the surface...
